Kentucky vs Georgia – UK Athletics

preview

After suffering its first loss of the season last week, Kentucky returns to action Saturday, hosting top-ranked Georgia at Kroger Field (7:30 p.m. ET, ABC).

Georgia has a 2-0 record this season and is ranked No. 1 in both major polls. Kentucky won its opener against Southern Miss before losing to South Carolina last weekend.

Kentucky's offense struggled in a 31-6 loss to South Carolina on Saturday. The Cats managed less than 200 total yards of offense.

So the job of UK offensive coordinator Bush Hamdan and the offensive staff this week was to get things in order as the Cats prepare to play the top-ranked Georgia team. Hamdan believes the problems his unit had on Saturday can be fixed.

“Absolutely. A lot of it came down to one-on-one battles,” Hamdan said. “We came in and put a lot of emphasis on protecting those edges and those pass rushers, but there were some things inside that hurt us as well. I thought we ran the ball well at times during the game, and I think that's a huge positive. From a defensive standpoint, we know what we need to do to take the next step there.”
