Michael Chandler has hinted at the possibility of ending his long wait for a fight against Conor McGregor, and it looks like he may now do so.

UFC CEO Dana White announced on Friday Robbie Fox of Barstool Sports that Chandler has decided to accept another fight, and news of this new clash is imminent.

“No (McGregor is no longer fighting Chandler),” White said. “Chandler said, 'I'm tired of waiting. I want to fight.' That will be announced tomorrow.”

If White's interview was recorded the same day the video was released, it's possible the fight announcement will be made on Sphere's UFC 306 broadcast.

Chandler has not competed since his loss to Dustin Poirier in November 2022 at UFC 281. He coached with McGregor on the reality series “The Ultimate Fighter” in early 2023 before the two were finally officially scheduled to meet at UFC 303 in July.

However, McGregor pulled out due to a broken toe and no new date has been set. The former two-division UFC champion claims he is eager to fight, but White recently said McGregor will not fight until early 2025.
