“Put me in the game!”: Terence Crawford reacts to Canelo vs. Berlanga

Terence Crawford was ringside for Canelo Alvarez's victory over Edgar Berlanga tonight, and although his dream fight seems unlikely, he has not given up hope.

“Put me in the game, coach!” Crawford posted on social media and continues to hope for a fight with Canelo, which Alvarez himself has repeatedly turned down.

Canelo has notably stated that his fights will take place on his terms and not those of Turki Alalshikh, who had tried to make Crawford's dream come true with a big money offer.

Crawford is the current middleweight champion (154 pounds), while Canelo is obviously a middleweight (168 pounds), and because of this he believes he would not get any credit for defeating Crawford if the fight actually took place.

However, one cannot blame “Bud” for continuing to hope, as this could be an enormous sum of money for both sides.

Canelo (62-2-2, 39 KO) defeated Berlanga (22-1, 17 KO) by a clear decision, but Berlanga received recognition from his fellow fighters for his display of toughness.

“Edgar will learn a lot from this fight,” said Jamel Herring. “Nothing to be ashamed of.”

In a truly thoughtful insight, Devin Haney stated that Berlanga is “not a bitch.”
