How to watch the 2024 Emmy Awards live online

Six months later, television's biggest night is back. After the 2023 Emmy Awards were postponed until last January due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, the second Emmy ceremony of the year will go back to normal this Sunday, September 15. The full fashion gallery for the 2024 Emmys can be found here.

The 76th Emmy Awards begin at 5:00 p.m. PT/8:00 p.m. ET at the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles. The three-hour show will air live on ABC, but cableEditors can still watch the show live via a variety of live TV streamers including DirecTV, Sling TV, Fubo TV, and Hulu + Live TV.

The best way to watch the 2024 Emmys live online is through DirecTV, which is currently offering a free trial.

Leading the way at this year's ceremony is FX's “Shogun,” which earned an impressive 25 nominations (including miniseries) and first-time nominations for actors Hiroyuki Sanada and Anna Sawai. It's a big night for FX, which heads into the ceremony with 93 total nominations – thanks in part to a record-breaking 23 nominations (the most in Emmy history) for its comedy series “The Bear.”

Already an Emmy superstar, The Bear won 10 awards in 2023, making it the series with the most Emmys won in its first season. This time, The Bear stars Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Lionel Boyce and Liza Colón-Zayas all received nominations for best actor.

Father-son duo Eugene Levy and Dan Levy will host this year's Emmys. The two made history in 2020 when they became the first father and son to win major awards in the same year thanks to “Schitt's Creek.” Eugene Levy and Dan Levy are the first father-son hosts of the Emmys; they are also the first duo since 2018 (when Colin Jost and Michael Che co-hosted) and only the second duo to host this century.

It will be a big Emmy for Eugene Levy: This year he is nominated for his Apple TV+ series “The Reluctant Traveler With Eugene Levy,” which is nominated in the category “Outstanding Hosted Nonfiction Series or Special.”
