Minday Kaling at the Tory Burch New York Fashion Week show

Mindy Kaling's baby is a daredevil!

In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE at the Tory Burch show during New York Fashion Week on Monday, September 9, the 45-year-old actress revealed that her daughter Anne has started crawling.

“My baby can't crawl yet, but she's trying,” Kaling tells PEOPLE of Anne, whose birth she announced in February in an Instagram post from June 2024. “She's like on overdrive. She's immobile, but she's dying to get going.”

“And I say, 'No, not yet!' I like that she can't move as much,” the star continues. “It's nice and easier to watch her.”

Kaling, who is also mom to 6-year-old daughter Katherine Swati and 4-year-old son Spencer Avu, also talked about the prospect of taking her children to future industry events.

“You know, I think right now only my oldest can appreciate this,” says the mother of three. “My son is more into trucks, so if Tory isn't into a trucks collaboration, I don't think he might like it.”

Kaling, who keeps the paternity of her children secret, also talked about how her children have made her life easier when it comes to fashion and beauty.

“I don't wear lip gloss anymore because it gets too much into my hair when I'm in a hurry with kids, for example – it just smears everywhere,” says the comedian.

“So lately I've been using some kind of lip balm.”

Kaling made the comments after celebrating her son Spencer's fourth birthday earlier this month.

The proud mother celebrated her son’s special day with a Cars– Theme party with an outdoor obstacle course and a themed birthday cake.

“Happy birthday to my best friend Spencer Kaling (who woke up this morning and said 'I had a great night's sleep and I'm now four!') 🚗🚗🚗,” she wrote on Instagram.
